Referendum Debate Over School Board Selection in Frederick County
Frederick County Education Forum debated the school board selection referendum set for November 7. Charles Smith argued against replacing the current School Trustee Electoral Board with a County Board of Supervisors, citing partisan risk and budget control concerns, while Kenneth Stiles defended the present system and criticized perceived inefficiencies. Around 100 attendees at Stonewall Elementary School heard both sides and asked questions after the talk.
