Herman Hable a Winchester businessman filed an answer throughAttorney R Gray Williams in Corporation Court to the $30000 damages suit brought by Frances Malone through her mother Della Malone over a crash on the Winchester Berryville pike last March 31. Hable denies all plaintiff allegations and details the accident noting he moved at a moderate speed on a slight grade and tried to avoid the Malone car which was on his right side. Arlington funeral honors for Al G. Hopkins
Al G. Hopkins died after an auto crash near Winchester and was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. Funeral services were held at Walter Reed Chapel, with comrades escorting the body to the cemetery for a simple army committal. He was 35 and survived by his bride Orion Leith Hiett, his parents, two sisters, and four brothers. Hopkins served in France during World War I with the Eighty Eighth Engineers.
