Lutherans Plan Big Mission Expansion By United Lutheran Church
Three major expansion proposals were submitted for approval by the United Lutheran Church in America, including purchase of the Berlin Missionary Society’s Shantung establishment for 185500, establishment of Andhra Christian College in India with an estimated initial cost of 300000, and a broad drive to expand missions in Japan and other regions. The report notes historic shifts after German missions waned during WWI, with India as the largest field and 90 missionaries, 3220 Indian Christian workers, and 150500 members.
