George Purcell Recovers After Peanut Roaster Blast Burns
George Purcell was severely burned when a peanut roaster exploded at Loudoun street and Rouss Avenue. He suffered second degree burns to both feet and the right thigh and hip, the right hand and arm to the elbow, and first degree burns on the face. He was taken to the hospital and may remain ten to fifteen days. Local residents, W. K. Sirbaugh and Carl Gordon, assisted by removing burning clothing and smothering the flames.
