Middletown Annexation Suit Begs In Frederick County Court
Proceedings opened in Frederick County Circuit Court over Middletown's plan to annex about 85 acres. Town attorney Steve Butler called it a friendly suit with no interveners, covering three parcels including undeveloped land, commercial area with a Stuckey's and a future motor lodge site, and a residential subdivision with 35 lots. The area now receives town utilities and the population has risen from 503 to about 850. Commonwealth's Attorney Lawrence Ambrogi noted no interveners and stated the county’s official stance.
