Clothing Prices Drive September U S Inflation Rise
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the Consumer Price Index up four tenths of a percent in September led by higher clothing prices. Gasoline and eggs also contributed while beef fruits vegetables and new cars moderated the increase. Real earnings rose seven tenths in September strengthening purchasing power versus a year ago.
