Judge Williams Found Dead Near Winchester
Judge Philip Williams of the 17th Judicial Circuit was found shot to death about 11:30 a m near a municipal reserve overlooking the city. He had recently returned from Charlottesville and presided over Clarke County Court sessions before feeling unwell. Funeral set for 4 pm Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church. Survived by widow Gladys George Williams three children sister and brother. He served as judge for over fifteen years and helped decide the Fairfax annexation case.
