Slain Harrisonburg Mayor Found Near Rockland Mill
The body of Harrisonburg Mayor John W. Morrison missing since Monday was found today under an apple tree on M. L. Pence farm near Rockland Mill. A bullet hole in the temple and a .38 pistol lay nearby as state and city police had searched since Morrison’s automobile was found ditched at Spader's Church. J. N. Crown of Mount Solon discovered the body and alerted authorities amid a large search. Inquest expected. Morrison, 61, a Republican and House of Delegates member, was last seen after getting a ride on the highway.
