Maryland Man Killed in Paris Mountain Crash
A Maryland man died and another was injured when a 1962 automobile veered off Rt. 50 on Paris Mountain, struck a tree, and rolled. William Cannon, 40, Cresaptown, Md., was the driver and killed. Passenger Harry Atkins, Cumberland, Md., suffered a fractured arm and head cuts. both were removed by Winchester Volunteer Rescue Squad to Winchester Memorial Hospital. The car left the highway on the west face of the mountain and left impressions of the tree on the left side. Cannon is survived by wife and mother and two sons. Body at Jones Funeral Home awaiting arrangements. A second crash south of Winchester injured a Frederick County man and damaged two cars. Elwood Rogers, Bloomery, was hospitalized.
