Lewis A. Pollard of 32 East Clifford street learned last night that his son Lt. B. B. Pollard in the Army Air Corps has been seriously injured in Guadalcanal. Details were unavailable though the family was told to expect War Department notices. Mrs. Alene Hollemar Pollard, an Army nurse at Craig's Field, Selma Alabama, conveyed the report.

Heart Attack Fatal To Mr. Wood At Winchester Store
Harry LeMar Wood 72, a retired tailor and World War II veteran, died suddenly at 10:30 am in Frank Gearing's store on Piccadilly Street. He had been living with his daughter in Silver Springs Maryland and was visiting his niece at 119 West Monmouth Street. Captain J L O'Brien, visiting from Nome Alaska, aided him after he collapsed. death occurred before medical help arrived. He is survived by six children including Stuart F. B. Wood, Harry M. Wood, and Mrs. Kent Miller, with ties to the Pacific in the Marines and to Washington.

Drivers In Cider Spill Fined After Valley Pike Crash
Two drivers were fined after a morning accident on the Valley Pike near Stephenson that spilled about 2 000 gallons of apple cider.
