Miss Madie Bell a longtime Winchester teacher and Sunday school instructor died at her North Market Street home after a three month illness. She guided thousands of students in public schools and aided the poor, joining Confederate circles and church work. Survived by siblings and half siblings, funeral at the Presbyterian Church with burial in Mount Hebron.
