Mrs. Mollie A. Grant wife of James S. Grant longtime Winchester merchant died at her home 414 North Braddock after a lengthy illness in her sixty fifth year. Born September 19 1881 in Plaquemine La she married in Little Rock Ark August 3 1910 and lived in Winchester since. A devout Sacred Heart Catholic Church member she aided those in need. She was daughter of the late Judge E B Talbot and Mrs Talbot survived by her husband four sisters and a niece.

Ration Board Consolidation With Winchester and Frederick County
Clarke County War Price and Rationing Board will merge with the Winchester and Frederick County board on Monday October 15. Beginning October 16 all Clarke County rationing programs will be administered by the Winchester office in the George Washington Hotel basement. Clarke county panels will assist in two programs. A Clarke fire panel led by Irvine Price will meet weekly in the trial justice courtroom to review Clarke applicants filed in Winchester. The existing Clarke price panel remains active, and Loring C. Rackley becomes Clarke County forms distribution officer with distributIon from the county office building.

Four Injured In Berryville Pike Accident
Lewis Poston of Bluemont is in Winchester Memorial Hospital with head lacerations after the car he rode in overturned early this morning on Berryville Pike seven miles east of Winchester in Clarke county. In the same vehicle were Miss Alice Poston Charles Town W V Miss Fredansing Stephenson and Corporal Milton Sowers all treated as in or outpatients for minor lacerations and bruises. The crash at about 12 30 am occurred when the driver blinded by oncoming lights left the highway and toppled into a ditch. They were brought to the hospital by Omps Ambulance driven by Lee Brown.
