Police linked a wave of car thefts to a crash on the Valley Turnpike near Bartonville. Robert Emig of Ephrat Pa. crashed the Rev Norman Cooper car and was hospitalized. officers found keys to John Scully and Fred L Glaize cars on him. The Glaize vehicle was found near Sunrise West Virginia. The Scully car attempt failed. The injured youth refused to answer questions and was secured to his hospital bed with a leg chain. A witness saw a man trying to start a car on South Stew art street and fled after searches failed. The car involved belonged to P Terretta of South Washington street.
