Seagrave Pumper Testing Ends With Deferred Acceptance
The South End Hose Company new Seagrave pumper passed tests yesterday but acceptance is deferred for minor changes. Engineer Fred Golomb will drive it to Columbus Ohio for work and return to Winchester. Changes include lowering the booster tank to seat firefighters en route to fires. Public demonstration of the streamlined fire fighter has been postponed indefinitely. Tests were reviewed by G G Rosenberger of the Southeastern Underwriters Association with driver William Gochenour and Fire Chief Taylor Barr assisting.
