Friendship Fire Co. schedules its regular meeting for Thursday October 12 at 8 o clock. The discussion will include uniform shirts and other important matters to be brought before attendees. Captain Fred W. Forney will preside.
Reports say several South End business burglaries occurred Tuesday morning. Edward Brooks, a barber on Pall Mall Street, reported his shop broken into with eight razors, clippers, and scissors missing. Equipment and supplies were scattered. a possible pinch bar was used. An attempted break in at Edgar Carper’s South Main Street store failed on a bolted door.

The Handley Schools of Winchester were selected by the National Character Educational Association to host experts for studies tests and observations on character development.
