Ex-Servicemen Arrested for Publishing Atomic Bomb Photos
Three former servicemen were arrested in Baltimore on charges of publishing photographs of the atomic bomb. One man allegedly obtained the images while serving with a bomber squadron in the Pacific in 1945. Accused of attempted sale, the trio allegedly sought to sell to the Baltimore News-Post and distributed copies elsewhere. Names and addresses of the defendants were released: George Wallace Comer, Miles Frederick Daubenheyer, and James Barnes Rike. They are to be arraigned in Baltimore on charges under federal law prohibiting reproduction or publication of military installations.
