Green lights flashing for all flight aspects as the final countdown begins for Friday's Apollo 7 launch. The 300-man crew plans to begin the final hours by feeding electrical power to the 224 foot Saturn 1B rocket for an 11 day space journey.
At Space Center Houston Mrs. Walter Cunningham flies to Florida with her children for a quiet dinner before the Apollo 7 liftoff. Other wives plan to watch the launch from Houston as the three astronauts prepare for a critical manned mission toward the moon set for Friday.
President Nguyen Van Thieu dismissed claims of a Tuesday coup attempt in Saigon. He said rumors arose from Communists and that security measures were normal with no arrests, while a government communique noted no arrests and ongoing actions against the enemy.
