Mrs M Hottel of Lebanon Church Shenandoah county Virginia writes The Star seeking help to locate her husband who left for Frederick county orchards on September 25 and has not been heard from since. She asks for any information and says he is badly needed at home. Continued on Page Three.

The funeral of Annie R Leathers wife of Brice H Leathers died suddenly Monday morning was held at 3 pm from her home 118 South Market Street. Rev H G Spencer and Rev Dr J H Lacy conducted the service with hymns sung by a choir. Burial followed at Mount Hebron Cemetery with pallbearers Maurice M Lynch A D Henkel George W Hardy P N Bowers John W Rice and Stewart Fawcett. The Rev. Dr. Henry T. Graham, former Hampden-Sydney College president, received a loving-cup from students at Cushings Hall in a ceremony led by Prof. A W McWhorter. The act honored his long service and friendship as he depart for Florence S C. The presentation occurred before the student battalion and community members, with Major F Neal overseeing the ceremony.
Philip Reginald Holliday formerly of Lehen West Virginia died at Memorial Hospital after three weeks of typhoid fever. He was employed at the Glaize lumber yards and had not lived with his family for ten years. He leaves a widow Miss Emma Triplett and four sons Irvin Alvie Stanley John. The family in Paw Paw is distant and no funeral arrangements are made until relatives arrive.

Miss Winifred Lupton Swimley and Capt. Horace C. Browne of the United States Army wed at the Tanquary residence in Winchester. The quiet ceremony was performed by Rev. J. H. They will reside on the Bowles farm after visiting eastern cities.
Rumors of a revolution plot in the German Navy were reported as exaggerated. Minister of Marine Cappele told the Reichstag via telegram that plotters including Deputy Hease were dealt with, but no details were given.
Report from Vienna says a peace conference will convene in Sofia with the Kaiser Emperor Charles of Austria King Ferdinand of Bulgaria and a Sultan's representative to discuss terms and the war outlook. A potential peace offer based on no annexations and no indemnities is noted.
