Prof Charles E McVay and his wife celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary at their Ruskin Nebraska home with relatives from distant states. A musical and literary program followed a community dinner at noon in the hall. They were married near Monticello Iowa in 1863 and have eight children and many descendants. The couple moved from Iowa to Nebraska about forty years ago. he is a Civil War veteran.

Miss Rose Lonas, 14, of Handley High School, was badly burned while pouring a can of what she believed to be coal oil on a smouldering stove. The fuel was gasoline, causing flames to envelop her head neck and hands. A policeman assisted in extinguishing the fire and she stayed home for several days of recovery.

Boy Held as Masked Man at Russell Home
