Elton Harold Hale a 43 year old Arkansas ex convict was arrested by California highway patrol in Lancaster after admitting he led two other men in a four state wave of about 100 highway robberies. Hale said a fourth man joined in California and wore a police cap during robberies near El Paso. He claimed the jobs were his idea and were done in his car with a gun. Hale and his 17 year old son Robert were detained. Hale has past sentences for rustling and burglary and faces highway robbery and rape charges in Texas.

Eugene Bryson 21 of Green Spring was sentenced to life in prison for the first degree murder of his neighbor Dewey Bohrer 60 last May 28.
