Hope and enthusiasm filled Griffith Stadium as the Senators hosted the Giants for game four of the World Series. With Earl Whithill’s shutout behind them, New York led two games to one. Death Removes Mr. Schaffenaker In W Va Hospital Ward
Charles W. Schaffenaker, 77, lifelong East West Virginia resident and former Mineral County land assessor, died Wednesday in a Weston hospital after a lingering illness. A native of Trenton New Jersey, he lived in Winchester Capon Bridge Meyers Keyser and was a grocer blacksmith and carriage maker.
