Denver reports indicate President Eisenhower slept soundly for 91 hours and made satisfactory progress. Grandchildren sent bubble gum gifts and Hagerty noted the president enjoyed a box of presents, while doctors warned the two week danger period after his heart attack remains critical.
Two 14 year old cousins told police they scattered eight silver figurines stolen from the Brooklyn Museum. Three of the pieces were recovered. one may be in a sewer. The boys, released to parents, face juvenile court action as police search remaining 5 statues.

At Fatehgarh near New Delhi twenty five people rode atop a truck carrying heavy iron pumps. The vehicle overturned spilling passengers and cargo. Pumps crushed ten passengers to death and fifteen were injured.

Winchester firemen answered two alarms within 12 hours with little damage reported.
