J Victor Arthur a Winchester business leader is chosen to head the sixth annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival with mass citizen support to follow this winter. The announcement came from William E Cooper festival chairman noting Arthur will accept only with unanimous committee endorsement and backing from former leaders Ray Robinson and H Clay De Grange pledged to assist. The committee plans to meet over winter to refine a program while considering new features and continuing the festival’s role in promoting Frederick County apples and attracting large crowds to Winchester and the Shenandoah and Cumberland valleys.

Remains of Aged Man Buried Here
The body of Emmanuel Brumbaugh who died September 25 at Memorial Hospital was interred yesterday afternoon in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. Dr. F. T. McFaden after health officials failed to locate relatives. It had been rumored the body would be sent to a medical college, but no such step was planned.
