200 Year Old House Relocated to Weeping Beach Park
The 1774 Weeping Beach Mansion moved at 10 a.m. to a new site in Weeping Beach Park Queens after a four year preservation effort led by the Kingsland Preservation Committee. The three story 12 room landmark, built by Charles Doughty, traveled a mile and a half past cheering crowds and wires cut to pass. It will serve as a civic center alongside Bowne House and a 121 year old weeping beech.
