Turks Move Toward Armistice With Allies
London dispatches report Turkey may seek an armistice with the Balkan and Macedonian fronts and likely accept allied terms similar to Bulgaria. Talaat Pasha and Enver Pasha are named as leaders of rival factions amid turmoil in Constantinople. The Vienna note says Austro Hungary views Bulgaria peace as a calamity and many troops arrived at Sofia late. Bulgarian officers allegedly executed for halting flight of troops. In Amsterdam Berlin dispatches say Germany will issue a clearer peace offer to the Allies following Bulgaria’s action.

Washington October 1 Uncle Sam's draft lottery record was smashed as the last number of 17000 was drawn to determine the order of liability for 13 million registered men. The drawing began at noon yesterday, ran without interruption for 20 hours, with six hour shifts and a top shift of 5910 numbers. The final capsule yielded 12734 and results will be mailed to district boards for publication.
