A studio in the Masonic Temple suffered a fierce blaze that damaged the building and caused chemicals and water to ruin hundreds of dollars worth of fur and dry goods below. The fire, possibly from an electrical fault near an enlarging room, prompted swift alarm and partial coats removal before further loss. The adjacent Ku Klux Klan banquet hall was evacuated and later resumed, with investigations focusing on the lamp area and Barr and Miller’s testimonies.

Olivia Taylor Dies in Winchester After Ill Health
Mrs. Olivia Taylor a lifelong resident of Winchester died Wednesday at her home 317 Highland Avenue after a long illness caused by dropsy with contributing complications. She was widow of John R. Taylor and daughter of the late Griffin and Mrs Griffin Taylor. Survived by son Oscar W. Taylor of this city. Funeral at 2 pm from Highland Avenue home with Rev. Robert B. Winchester Woman Gravely Ill From A Dose of Poison
Margaret Rush, 25, listed as from Winchester, is critically ill in a Montgomery hospital after taking poison in a Montgomery hotel last Sunday morning. She admitted poisoning herself but gave no motive. She is the former wife of Millard Cain of Winchester and sister of Scott Rush, a local antique dealer.
