The First Baptist Church plans a $95,000 house of worship on the Shumate lot at Washington and Piccadilly. A $60,000 loan is in sight from Mercantile Trust Co, with pledges totaling $33,431 and verbal commitments of $7,000. The church has $16,000 paid for the lot, $5,000 in bank, and 100 new members to be solicited over three years.
Mrs. Charles H. Consolvo wife of the Belvedere Hotel owner in Baltimore improved at Union Memorial hospital after five days illness. A sign read No visitors allowed and police inquiries noted she was suffering from stramine poisoning which had also slightly affected Colonel Consolvo.
