Trux ton Goodrell a college graduate and lawyer, was placed on trial in Rockville for the murder of Harry Adams. Adams, a Washington man in charge of a whiskey still near Burnt Mills, was found shot multiple times after a pursuit with Goodrell and Dennis R. Beatley. Beatley reported Adams’ absence, leading to Goodrell’s arrest. Goodrell claimed self defense noting threats by a negro and Adams.
