Six Injured In Plunge Of Bus Near Beltsville
A Washington New York bus plunged into a six foot ditch near Beltsville injuring the driver James W. Lucas and five of the 21 passengers. Conflicting stories emerged with Lucas saying he was blinded by oncoming lights. police report says passengers saw no vehicle in sight. The bus was bound for Baltimore arriving around 1 15. Tragic Three Die In Slippery Car Crash Near Upperville
Three members of the Buchanan and Durney families died after a car overturned on a slippery road near Upperville en route to Thanksgiving in Tennessee. Thomas Buchanan, 25, of Chilhowie, was killed instantly. Henry J. Durney and his wife Delkcina Buchanan Durney died later at Memorial Hospital. Their child Henry J. Durney Jr. remained in Watertown, Mass. while relatives arranged funerals in Chelsea, Mass. and Chilhowie, Tenn. The crash occurred on the Lee Jackson Memorial highway. cause beyond slick roads remains uncertain. Local clergy performed rites for Mr. Durney.
