The Corporation Court recorded a compromise with Mrs Susie Taylor for the boy’s injuries from an automobile collision near Market and Piccadilly. Amounts due include 360 to Memorial Hospital, 20 for the child’s expenses, and 480 for maintenance and education payable to the mother, with 860 total liability and 6 percent interest.

Joseph Packard, assessor of the Protestant Episcopal diocese of Maryland, lawyer and noted church layman, died at his Baltimore home after a week of illness at age 71. A Confederate veteran, he was son of the longtime dean of the Episcopal Seminary at Alexandria. He leaves a widow and six children.
Commander Richard Evelyn Byrd Jr of the US Navy arrives from Washington for a shore visit to his mother on Amerst street and will soon proceed to Chicago to organize the aviation program in the western region. He has built a strong reserve force in New England ready for emergency service.

Mrs Annie Hensell 65 widow of J Edward Hensell died at home after a weeklong illness. Born in Stephens City she was part of the Adams family and survived by two daughters and two brothers. Funeral at 3 p.m. Sunday at the family home with Rev D R K Finninger officiating and burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers listed.
