A massive brush and forest fire swept through the foothills northwest of Los Angeles threatening Tujunga. About 150 cabins and many homes burned, including a winery, with losses estimated around 3 million dollars. 170 men escaped as wind reached forty miles per hour and firefighters fought to save the town.
