Sydnor H. Bennett of Brunswick Maryland dies from a fractured skull and internal injuries after a Paeonian Springs Virginia auto crash. A third passenger, Mrs. Sydnor H. The Mount Clinton Orchard Company in Shenandoah County planted 10 250 dead peach fillers among apple trees. Ten thousand were cut, 250 left, yielding 1 000 from peaches. If removal had waited, the firm might have earned as much as 40 000 from the peach fillers after a season that produced 7 000 dollars in peaches from 25 acres of five year old trees.

Joseph Williams of Front Royal Virginia was indicted by a Maryland grand jury in Hagerstown for bigamy after allegedly marrying Mattie Jewel in 1915 while already married to Nannie Smedley. Front Royal officials attended the preliminary hearing.
Mrs John Ebert and family plus Mrs Hunter Yeakley and Mrs Millie Fries traveled to Harrisonburg Virginia for a large Democratic event last night. Afterward the group plans visits with Mr and Mrs David Sencindiver in Harrisonburg and Miss Mary Ebert and her brother will visit friends at the Shenandoah Collegiate Institute in Dayton Virginia.
H. H. Baker informs Winchester residents of his intention to seek the postmaster position when the current term ends in December 1918. He will file his formal claims in due course to the office patrons and asks supporters to withhold endorsements for other candidates until his candidacy is fully declared.
Fire insurance adjuster M A Tozier from Martinsburg spent yesterday in town adjusting the loss of Harlee Brothers on Main Street after a fireworks explosion damaged their shop Wednesday night. The store has been cleaned and reopened. insurance coverage was arranged through local representatives.
Charles B. Hughes carried Minnesota by a margin of 396 over Wilson. The final tally showed Hughes with 179,663 votes and Wilson with 179,157, according to a wire report from St. Paul Minnesota dated November 18.
A study from Republican national headquarters shows Wilson led with 2,266,000 votes and Hughes 564,000. Compared to 1912, Wilson and Hughes combined gained 2,880,000 votes. The report notes wide gains for Wilson in nearly all large states.
Miss Margaret Reardon leaves for Washington to serve as secretary to Congressman elect T. W. Harrison. She previously worked as stenographer and typewriter in the office of City Solicitor R. Gray Williams as Congress is convened on the first Monday in December.

Labor 400 strong will travel to Baltimore to thank President Wilson for his efforts on behalf of workers and to hear the administration's stance during the upcoming eight hour bill fight. The pilgrimage is headed by Samuel Gompers and ends with a late afternoon reception before the delegates depart on a special train.
At close of Baltimore wholesale markets this afternoon spot wheat stood at 1.52 and 5-8 cents, while corn was at 1.20.

Mr and Mrs Martin Franks of Monument Kansas arrived in Winchester from Bloomington Illinois this morning. They will spend several months visiting relatives. Former residents of this city they have been living in Kansas for years.
The body of Christine Diemer was exhumed at dawn in Pontiac for an autopsy by Dr. Hektoen to decide if she died by suicide or was beaten and dumped in the Vermilion River. Four men present included three undertakers and the sexton. The investigation may determine whether her parents and sister Magdalena face manslaughter charges or the case is dropped.
The T. A. Scott Company sues the German submarine Deutschland for $12 000 in New London claiming careless navigation and violation of rules after the tug T. A. Scott Jr. sank with five lives lost. The company posted a $260 bond pending federal court action in New Haven.

Mrs. D. Frank Six was beaten and bound in her South Locust Street home as a gang of robbers, active in the wealthy suburban area, fled after last night. Police, railroad detectives, and a posse searched for a suspect. Mrs. Six could identify her attacker if captured.
