King Hussein’s troops end Amman hotel siege at Intercontinental
In Amman Jordan King Hussein ordered a final attack to end a four hour siege by gunmen at the Intercontinental Hotel. Seven people died including four gunmen two hotel employees and two soldiers. None of the guests were killed. Hostages were taken during the attack and the gunmen fled to upper floors before forces secured the building.

Boeing Uses Soviet Defense Tactics for Plant Protection
Boeing says it adopted the Soviet civil defense method to shield industrial machinery from a nuclear attack, testing with Soviet manuals.
