The November 1 U S Bureau of Agricultural Economics report shows 10 345 000 barrels of apples in cold storage in the United States up from 9 043 000 last year and above the five year average 7 774 000. Detailed figures include 2 263 000 barrels of apples against 1 571 000 in 1930 and 2 358 000 on average. 14 670 000 boxes of apples versus 15 669 000 last year and 11 529 000 boxes on average. 9 575 000 bushel baskets of apples against 6 748 000 in 1930 and 4 721 000 on average. 1 679 000 boxes of pears versus 2 812 000 in 1930 and 1 900 000 on average. 364 000 bushel baskets of pears and 99 245 000 pounds of frozen and preserved fruits against 80 049 000 last year and 67 401 000 on average.
