President Eisenhower addressed space age defense spending in NSC level discussions after a hospital health report praised by his doctors. He met with key advisers first then with a large group, focusing on urgent budget and strategic issues.
White House said Adlai Stevenson has turned down an invitation to help prepare an American program for NATO. President Eisenhower will head the U S delegation to the Paris meeting with plans for Stevenson to comment later on the program. Stevenson may accompany Eisenhower to Paris as a foreign policy adviser, with a role similar to Dulles during the Truman era.
Apple Blossom Festival committees urge subscriptions to cover remaining 1957 festival costs. Financial review shows 1957 receipts from In Town memberships at 16 380 50 against disbursements of 34 056 with major expenses in parade pageant dances and public entertainment and services.
