Regular lock box service remains. special delivery offered. holiday collection receipt and dispatch observed. Elsewhere reports of clashes and Viet Nam related attacks followed.
Reports describe parades, marches, and demonstrations in support and criticism of Nixon Vietnam policy. Agnew reports mail favors his antiwar denouncements nearly five to one as protests unfold nationally.
Winchester Mayor William M. Battaile signs a proclamation urging area citizens to participate in Veterans Day programs. The Winchester Veterans Council hosts a 10:30 a.m. parade on Loudoun Street with services at the Confederate Statue, featuring Dr. William H. McCoy and Rev. Donnelly. A 1:30 p.m. program at Shenandoah Memorial Park includes Rev. James Omps and the Avenue of Flags.
The 1969 Chevrolet carrying Gary Willingham was destroyed in the head on crash on Route 7 early yesterday. Steven Kenny of Front Royal died at the scene in the other demolished vehicle.
Two men died and three others were injured in a head on crash on Route 7 about three miles east of the Opequon Bridge at 1 a.m. Kenneth Willingham, 23, of Manassas died at Winchester Memorial Hospital. Steven Kenny, 19, of Front Royal, was pronounced dead at the scene.
