Farmhouse Blaze Destroys Home in Wardensville Area
A two story frame dwelling owned by Edgar Smoke near Wardensville was destroyed by a noon yesterday fire that also damaged about 25 acres of woods. Loss estimated at 15000 dollars with no insurance. Fire started likely from a stove while the family was away. Fire crews, including Thomas Rosenberger and volunteers, battled the woods and stopped the blaze at a creek, while the home burned despite efforts.
