Prominent Winchester Fruit Grower Injured in Truck Crash
Albert Pine of Fairmont Avenue was badly hurt near the Cumberland Railroad crossing at Bunker Hill while driving an apple truck on the Martinsburg pike. The rear wheel collapsed, the vehicle overturned, and Pine was found unconscious. He was taken to Dr M G Hoffman’s office, then to Memorial Hospital in Winchester. It is feared he suffered a skull fracture. Pine, a White Hall farm operator and longtime Winchester resident, was en route to the Inwood evaporator with apples, and had pulled aside to let a car pass before the wheel failed and the truck overturned. He is known for his county Democratic activity.

Thomas O Davis, 4 nephew of Thomas Cover, died Tuesday at Lost City after 28 years with Son and Cover and Drayton. He led Lost City tannery operations for United States Leather Co after 1905 sale.
