Girl, 9, Beaten by Stepmother, Witness Says
A nine year old boy testified in police court that his sister Edith Riley was beaten by their stepmother and confined in a dark six by six foot closet with water and a blanket. He described her head bleeding after punishments and being found locked in the closet yesterday when authorities arrived. Edith was taken to a hospital after the family home incident.
