Gov Alfred E Smith addresses a large New York audience on election eve praising Franklin D Roosevelt and the Democratic ticket. He criticizes opponent Albert Ottinger on prohibition while pledging to govern with the people’s input as he heads toward a January 1 transition.
T Russell Cather, chairman of the Democratic Campaign Committee for Frederick county and Winchester, cited a telegram from Governor Byrd declaring a full Democratic victory in Virginia. He said conditions are improving statewide and that the ticket would win by about thirty thousand votes. Governor Byrd will speak at the Colonial Theatre in Winchester on Monday night at 8 o’clock to rally supporters.
Augusta Georgia November 3 The Associated Press reports a McAdoo telegram stating he is opposed to Governor Smith on prohibition and the eighteenth amendment but will preserve his party allegiance. The message was shared by Augusta Chronicle editor Thomas J Hamilton in response to inquiries from Stovall publisher of the Savannah Press.
New York reports radio discussions feature Governor Alfred E. Smith at Madison Square Garden on WJZ with coast to coast chain, Roosevelt and state candidates on WEAF WGY WGR, Governor A Harry Moore on WOR, Senator Borah from Utica on WJZ, Ray L Wilbur at 8 30 over WJZ chain. Bowles and Hollis in Lexington VA for Washington and Lee game.

G Oliver Snapp merchant at 425 North Cameron Street was held up in broad daylight around 9 20 this morning by a lone bandit who choked him and beat him with the revolver butt. The robber rifled the cash drawer and fled. Snapp taken to Memorial Hospital with head wounds and shock. Police search the northeast area as workers recall the assault in the store near the Baltimore and Ohio Freight Station.
