A 22-year-old sailor from Little Creek remains in serious condition at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after being bitten on the right hand by a rattlesnake. He had placed his hand in a bag containing the snake while hiking the Appalachian Trail near Roanoke. the snake was killed by police.
