Hearings Ended By Committees On London Treaty
Committee hearings on the London naval treaty ended today. After a naval officer objected to the pact before the Senate naval committee, Chairman Hale recessed the committee indefinitely. Body of Woman Found In River Near Yankee Stadium

Check Flasher Victimizes Winchester Merchants
Six local merchants were swindled of about 200 dollars Tuesday night by a man calling himself Russel J. Brown claiming to work for Harrison Construction Company of Atlanta. He cashed small purchases then took the rest of the checks in cash, using a sight draft drawn on an Atlanta bank and signed by R. M. Harrison. The suspect, about 160 pounds, light complexion, brown suit and slouch hat with glasses, fled before banks closed. Police warn merchants to cash only trusted checks as authorities chase the suspect possibly southward.
