Release Veteran Held In Connection With Boy's Death
An eight month probe into the September death of Robert Wilhide fourteen from Thurmont Frederick county concluded with the release of Osba McAfee who lived near Thurmont. State's Attorney Storm said evidence did not justify holding McAfee a WWI shell shock veteran. The boy was found dead with a wound near the heart after a two day search in the mountains while he hunted squirrels. A coroner's jury previously ruled the death accidental.
