Mother of Six Children Fatally Hurt in Auto Crash

Mrs Lily Jane Potter aged 44 a widow died from injuries after being struck by two cars on the state road near Berkeley Springs Sunday night about 10.00. She was walking home from church when she stepped into the path of one vehicle then into another. Harry Culp of Sir Johns Run drove the car to Martinsburg hospital and Morgan County authorities said it was an accident. The family may seek an inquest. Six children survive.

Kirby Smuggled to Jail for Maine Case

Harry A. Kirby was arrested in Newburyport Massachusetts on charges of murdering Miss Aida Heyward and attempting to murder her aunt Mrs Emma M Towns, plus burning the cottage at Lake Maranacook Winthrop. He was smuggled to Kennebec county jail in Augusta for arraignment and to await transfer to Winthrop.
