Washington May 25. Senate finance committee rapidly redrafts the $1.8 billion war revenue bill passed by the House seeking a lower total levy. Waite Executed for Murder of Father-in-law in Sing Sing
Arch criminal Waite died in the electric chair at Sing Sing prison at 11:30 p.m. on May 25, three days before the anniversary of his May 27, 1916 conviction for the murder of John E K Peck of Grand Rapids Mich. He had confessed to poisoning and smothering Peck and was said to have killed Mrs Peck by germ inoculation and poison.
