In Rockville Maryland May 24 doctors H R Street and Sherwood Ferris pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges in the death of Cora L Britton of Mays Landing New Jersey. Salve used on the patient allegedly ate into her chest and widened a wound. The salve reportedly contained zinc chloride a known corrosive poison.

Charles W Gaunt, prominent Boyce merchant for over a decade, died at his home at 2 a m after a period of ill health. Born September 17 1875 in Edinburg Shenandoah County he worked in Lebanon Church and Berryville before joining O H Gaunt and Brother. He married Mary Engle in 1902 who preceded him in death.
