Country stars join Buck Ryan tribute at UAW Hall Paper Mill Road Winchester. The event runs 1 to 7 p.m. with a freewill offering for Ryan who is under doctor care awaiting surgery. Mrs. Joseph W. White hosted the Hawthorne Garden Club on her garden patio for the May meeting. President Mrs. Hamp ton Hylton led the business session and welcomed new member Mrs. Lawrence D. Hanback Jr. The treasurer reported contributions to World Gardening and the Nature Conservancy of the American Land Trust. A junior club report noted June meetings and school annuals planting. Guest speaker William Minor of Smalls Garden Center discussed lawn and shrub care and pruning. Special arrangements featured fruit with several award recipients.
