Genevia Lee Johnson 13 dies minutes after a 32 caliber rifle in her brother Wayne William Johnson's hands exploded. The accident occurred as he attempted to remove a cartridge, the bullet entering her right side and possibly severing the spinal cord. Sheriff Pannett and County Attorney T Russell Cather ruled no inquest needed.

Skeletons Unearthed At Cedar Creek Spur Historical Finds
Archaeologists led by J Walter Fewkes uncover seven skeletal remains on farms near Berryville and Strasburg Virginia. The diggers say the bones may belong to early Indian warriors or Powhatans buried after the civil war era. Finds include a seven and a half foot skeleton and a tomahawk bearing grave artifacts. Further surveys and extensive excavations are planned to determine age and tribe attribution.
