Legion Plans A Clam Bake At July Meeting
At a meeting of the Robert Y. Conrad Post American Legion held at John Fosbrink’s residence plans were discussed for a July clam bake with guest speaker C Fred Johnson national vice commander of the Legion. A definite date was not set. They also discussed Armistice Day events on November 11 including aims to bring two top football teams to play here potentially a college game.

Officer R E Bayliss described a near total wreck a quarter mile west of DeHaven on Tuesday about 4 30 p m. Amick Walker drove the car owned by W S McClintock and collided with a tree injuring James Walker who suffered a broken arm and facial lacerations. Amick Walker was booked on operating while under the influence and unauthorized use of an automobile but was not jailed until yesterday.

City completes two major improvement projects
City employees work on two projects to upgrade facilities. The main effort is installing water mains on North Cameron Street connecting with Cumberland Valley cut off mains to the by product plants area to improve pressure during peak plant season. Refused Permit For 4500 Pinball Machines In Baltimore
Frank Robey, clerk of the Baltimore Court of Common Pleas, today refused to issue licenses allowing a Washington man to operate 4500 pinball machines in Baltimore. The machines were legalized and taxed by a recent legislature special session, with proceeds about 350000 dollars annually for relief. Robey said the machines might be gambling devices and will seek an opinion from Attorney General Herbert R. O Conor before issuing licenses. He may issue licenses for regular pinball machines.

Storm Sewer Project Advances in City Cooperation
Work continues on a 24000 storm sewer project sponsored by the city in cooperation with the WPA. Progress slows to allow completion of the water project in the northern city area this week.
