Speed Record Flights Aim for Canada to Mexico Run
Goodrich test plane Silvertown, fresh off six world speed records, plans a May 17 start to push new marks. The monoplane, rebuilt at Burbank California, will seek Canada to Mexico records and then challenge 500 to 2000 kilometer courses with added weights, near Salton Sea El Centro. The Wasp engine with a supercharger powered speeds over 200 mph in prior tests.
